About us
The organizer of the International Film&TV Festival is the independent non-commercial organization Production Center NORTHERN CHARACTER. The operator of the event is LLC Art Media Service. The founders are Svetlana Soldatova and Yuri Erofeev, they have been organizing the International Film Festival since 2008. This is not the only project of the Production center. It organizers holidays, exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events. Here are some of them:
2014: “We Bring Back Time” - Interactive Film Festival. In honor of the 70th anniversary of the Nazis (troops´) defeat in the Arctic during World War II, military reenactors, actors, museum staff and volunteers recreated the atmosphere of the war. Five thematic spots were presented in Murmansk Regional Museum of Local History: On the Eve, June 22, 1941, Days at the Front Line, Victory Will Be Ours, (Cinematography At War). The visitors of the spots were able to touch upon the material evidence of the war period, think about such important concepts as life, death and a feat in the name of the life of future generations.
2017: Traveling exhibitions, presenting works of regional artists in eight cities of Murmansk region. It was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Murmansk region, which was celebrated in May 2018. During the whole year, residents of eight municipalities in Murmansk region and other visitors were getting acquainted with the paintings of 13 famous artists of the region.
2018: With the support of Murmansk Regional Committee on Culture and Art Northern Character Production Center implemented a travelling exhibition project of Applied Arts. The project exhibited pieces of art, presented by clubs, working at the House of Crafts in Murmansk Regional Museum of Art. The project was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Murmansk region. Eight exhibitions were held during April - December 2018, in Nikel, Polyarnyi, Severomorsk, Olenegorsk, Monchegorsk, Kovdor, Kandalaksha and Umba. More than 4600 residents of Murmansk region and other visitors from the Arctic regions got acquainted with the work of Arctic masters.
2018 and 2019: NORTHERN CHARACTER: GREEN SCREEN International Festival of Social and Ecological Films at Nickel (Russia) and Kirkenes (Norway). The festival united people on both sides of the Russian-Norwegian border. Norwegians and Russians were discussing topics on culture, ecology and cinematography, and they also planted trees together and made plans for the future.
